December 3rd-9th: Together with Professor Christine Norton and Dr John Beavis, CG flew to Palestine to take part in a special and very successful IMET2000-Pal workshop on ‘Critical Care Nursing’ held in Ramallah on the 5th/6th December.

October 3rd-5th November: Further meetings with MAP and the MoH about progress of the burns project.

August29th-September1st: CG went to Malaga in Spain to participate in the AMEE Annual Conference.

August1st-12th: Together with Mrs Jo Myers and Dr Keith Judkins, CG worked in Palestine on the MAP/IMET2000 joint Burns Project visiting Rafidiyah Hospital in Nablus and holding a 2-day workshop in Ramallah to finalise the protocols to be standardised throughout Palestine.

May 9th-15th: CG flew out to Palestine to open a new office in Ramallah large enough to accommodate a small teaching Centre and interview 6 candidates for Director of IMET2000-Pal. An official opening of the Centre was held on May 13th attended and welcomed by the Minister of Health Dr Fathi Abu Moghli.

May 5th-11th: BJF flew out to Rosario in Argentina to establish a branch of our UNESCO Chair in Cryobiology in a unit seriously involved in liver transplantation and storage.

May1st-6th: CG flew out to Capetown, SouthAfrica to talk with senior colleagues about collaborations between SA and Palestine in child psychiatry, burns management and primary trauma care as well as raise funds for the Palestinian mental health programme.

February 18th-23rd: CG flew out to Singapore to meet up with Dr Hani Abdeen (Dean of Al Quds Medical School) who IMET2000 had sponsored to attend the Asian Medical Education Annual Conference. We toured several teaching hospital departments and had excellent discussions with Professors Ronald Harden and ST Lee about future collaborations with the Palestinian Medical School.

February 16th: Together with Dr Malik Zaben, CG met with Professor Ronald Harden to negotiate an IMET2000 contract with the AMEE spin-out website MedEdWorld as well as future collaborations and special rates for Palestinian delegates at AMEE conferences.

January 26th: CG talked in Goldsmith’s College on medical education in Palestine and the needs as well as possible contributions from Goldsmiths in teaching skills.
