The Annual General Meeting of the International Medical Education Trust 2000 Board of Directors was held on the 2nd of December, 2015 in the Louis Forman Room, the Royal Society of Medicine, London.

The International Medical Education ( IMET2000-PAL) in cooperation with the Ministry of Health organised yesterday a workshop training for 35 nurses working in governmental and private Palestinian hospitals. The training focused on the principles of the nursing basic emergencies and was titled: “Emergency Nursing Core Training: Basic Electrocardiogram Interpretation (ECG)”.The workshop led by Mr. Osaid Rashid, a lecturer at AL-Quds University, the head of Continuing Education Department at Al ahli Hospital, and a trainer adopted by the American Heart Association.

June 2015

IMET2000 has started a new project to encourage medical students to train in specialties severely needed in Palestine. Tariq Abu-Rish is a medical students from Al-Quds University Medical School who was awarded IMET2000 Scholarship-2015 to train in anaesthesia and pain management. This is Tarek on arrival in Brighton at Jackie Fosbury’s home for the whole 6 weeks of training with Dr Anita Sugavanam.

Scholarship: IMET2000-Pal Travel Bursary Award, 3rd International Conference on Prevention & Infection Control (ICPIC),– Dr. Ahmed Abu Tayeh , June 2015
ICPIC provides a unique forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the prevention of healthcare-associated infection and control of antimicrobial resistance around the world.
IMET2000-Pal had an abstract shown for two days entitled ” Anaestheologists’ Current Infection Control Training Program Needs in Palestine: A Quantitative Study”.

June 2016

IMET2000 in collaboration with Palestinian hospitals and Academic institutions organised the first workshop on the whole of nursing leadership and management in Ramallah in a series of workshops for Nurses as leaders and managers. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Raja Zyoud , Dr. Raja Naef Zyuod, Lecturer in Management at Arab American University. 40 healthcare professionals attended.

May 2015

IMET2000 in collaboration with Palestinian hospitals and Academic institutions organised Basic Medical Research Skills workshop. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Rachel Mckay, Professor at UCSF, San Fransisco, USA. 30 healthcare professionals (doctors and nurses) attended the workshop.

May, 2015

IMET2000 in collaboration with the MoH and the internal Medicine department in Palestine Medical Complex organised the second workshop in a series of workshops for Internal Medicine residents and doctors in PMC to encourage in department activities in hospitals. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Jaradat, Palestinian Intensivist, and Internal Medicine Lecturer at Al-Quds university school of medicine. 25 healthcare professionals attended.
