IMET2000 Donates Oxygen Generators to Areas Badly Hit with COVID-19 in Palestine

April 2021

This month we have started distributing more than 50 oxygen generators to many villages and refugee camps across the West Bank. This was done to help the health sector in Palestine cope with the pandemic. As the number of cases rises, we hope to relieve hospitals by providing home-oxygen therapy for those who otherwise would have to be treated as in-patients. This primarily includes patients with mild to moderate COVID symptoms who do not necessarily require positive pressure oxygen therapy (CPAP) or ventilation in intensive care. This project also aims to discharge patients from hospitals as soon as it is safe to do so, in order to open up more spaces for people with serious symptoms.

This very initial step will be followed by a series of collaborative activities that the two parties are hoping to deliver over the next few months. Those activities range from empowering healthcare professional and medical students research skills to community-based campaigns to increase the Palestinians awareness of public health issues of interest.
